There's nothing quite like Downtown Summer Jam season in Great Falls, MT. Here's everything you need to know to make the most of the 2026 concert series.


What Is Downtown Summer Jam?


Downtown Summer Jam is an outdoor concert series that takes over the corner of 5th Street and Central Avenue in downtown Great Falls every summer. Three nights. One in June, July, and August. Featuring music acts on a full outdoor stage, with food vendors, beverage booths, and the kind of crowd that turns a Wednesday night into something worth remembering.


And then there's the bonus show: the 4th of July Hootenanny, a free outdoor concert held right after the annual parade that draws somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 people to downtown Great Falls every year.

Tickets


Tickets are $20 per show (general admission) and can be purchased two ways:


  • Online at downtownsummerjam.com

  • In person at The Newberry box office, 420 Central Ave, downtown Great Falls


Pro tip: Grab the 3-show pack for $50 and save $10. If you're planning to make it a full summer, and you should, the 3-pack is the move. It's the best value and it means you never have to scramble for tickets the week of the show.


The Venue: 5th & Central


The stage is set up on the corner of 5th Street and Central Avenue in the heart of downtown Great Falls. It's a full outdoor stage with room for a real crowd, food and beverage vendors spread along Central Ave, and the kind of downtown backdrop that makes every photo look like a summer magazine spread.


Gates open at 5:30pm. Music, food, drinks, and good company from the moment you walk in. The main act typically takes the stage around 7:30pm, so arrive early and settle in.


It's a general admission show. Folding chairs are welcome and encouraged, especially if you want a solid spot for the full show. 



What to Bring


The essentials:


  • Your ticket (digital or printed)

  • Folding chair or blanket

  • Sunscreen — the shows start in full daylight 

  • Sunglasses and a hat for the early part of the evening

  • A light layer for after sunset

  • ID if you plan on enjoying the beverage options 

  • Cash 


Leave at home:


  • Coolers and outside alcohol — not permitted

  • Pets — not permitted

  • Cigarettes — no smoking on site


Food & Drinks


Food and beverage vendors are set up along Central Ave throughout the show. Alcohol is available for sale at various booths. Note that drinks need to stay within the open container

area.


Beyond what's on-site, the beauty of Downtown Summer Jam is that you're in the middle of downtown Great Falls, surrounded by some of the best food and drink spots in the city. 


Parking


Two downtown parking garages are your best options and both are within easy walking distance of the stage:


  • North Parking Garage — 17 4th St N

  • South Parking Garage — 315 1st Ave S


Street parking on Central Ave and the surrounding blocks also fills up — arrive a bit early and you'll have no trouble finding something.
